RESIN COMPOSITION, PROCESS FOR PREPARING THE SAME, AND COATING FILM OR ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PHOTORECEPTOR MADE USING THE SAME

A resin composition comprising 5 to 70 % by weight of an aromatic polyester moiety (A) comprising a polycondensate moiety composed mainly of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid residue and an aromatic diol residue, 10 to 75 % by weight of a polyester moiety (B) comprising a polycondensate moiety composed mainly of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid residue or an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid residue and an aliphatic diol residue, and 20 to 85 % by weight of a polycarbonate moiety (C) comprising a polycondensate moiety composed mainly of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid residue and a carbonic acid residue, these moieties being chemically bonded to one another. The resin composition has a number-average molecular weight (Mn) of 2,000 to 200,000, an elongation at tensile break of not less than 50 % as measured according to ASTM D638, a light transmittance of not less than 70 % in a wavelength range of 400 to 800 nm as measured with respect to a coating film having a thickness of 15 mu m, and a solubility in chloroform or methylene chloride of not less than 10 g/100 ml at 25 DEG C. The resin composition is excellent in transparency, solubility, and particularly abrasion resistance and is suitable as a binder resin or the like for coating film or photographic photoreceptor.
