The window or door comprises fixed (3) and hinged (2) frames. An air gap (4) is formed between them on one of which is a lock mechanism (5) with a driving rod (6) sliding in the lengthwise direction between locked and free positions, the moving part of the lock mechanism is mounted on it. One or more pairs of locking wedges are mounted in the air gap one of them is fixed to one of the frames with the other coupled to the rod. In the direction of the locking position (13), the ramp face of the fixed wedge (17) slopes upwards, while that of the moving wedge (16) does so in the opposite direction. In the locked position the ramp faces are immediately opposite each other. |
