PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain patterns very similar to natural marble patterns by placing a rod-shaped body composed of bulk molding compds. of two or more kinds of colored polymerizable compds. on the central part of a rectangular mold in parallel to the long side of the mold to press the same. SOLUTION: A rod-shaped body consisting of bulk molding compds.(BMC) 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d colored by various colors are placed on the central part of a rectangular mold 1 of which the periphery is surrounded by an elastomer 3 in parallel to the long side of the mold 1 and pressed while appropriately heated. By this constitution, an artificial marble plate having stripe patterns such that BMCs of respective colors flow almost linearly from one to the other and very similar to natural marble is obtained. |
