PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting diode array capable of eliminating such a problem that the production of the array becomes complicated when three or more light emitting diodes are connected to one individual electrode. SOLUTION: This light emitting diode array is provided by forming a large number of light emitting diodes each consisting of an island-shaped semiconductor layer 2 showing one conductive type and an island-shaped semiconductor layer 3 showing an inverse conductive type on a semiconductor substrate 1 in a row and connecting a plurality of the island-shaped semiconductor layers 3 showing the inverse conductive type to one individual electrode 4 and connecting the island-shaped semiconductor layers 2 showing one conductive type positioned at the lower parts of a plurality of the island-shaped semiconductor layers 3 showing the inverse conductive type connected to the same individual electrode to different common electrodes 5, 1b. In this case, the common electrodes 5, 1b are formed to the semiconductor substrate 1 in a state containing one conductive type semiconductor impurities in high concn. |
