A heavy duty pneumatic radial tire is provided to equally distribute contact pressure of the tire and prevent uneven wear and early wear of tire by inserting a zero-degree tire between second and third belts in a belted layer, having a belt angle of less than 2 degrees with respect the tire center line. A heavy duty pneumatic radial tire(10) has a belted layer(20) comprising a plurality of belts between a tread(30) and a carcass(40). The belted layer comprises a first belt(21) layered above the carcass having a belt angle on the right side with respect to a tire center line(C), a second belt(23) layered above the first belt having a belt angle on the right side with respect to the tire center line, a third belt(25) disposed below the tread, having a belt angle on the left side with respect to the tire center line, and a zero-degree belt(27) disposed between the second belt and the third belt, having a belt angle of less than 2 degrees with respect the tire center line, wherein the zero-degree belt has a width(BW0) of no more than a width(BW2) of the second belt, and is rolled in the direction of circumference of the tire.
