<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life and save the space by optimizing control of a driving motor of a transfer robot in a library device. SOLUTION: In the library device provided with at least a housing shelf 1 housing plural recording media 9, a recording/reproducing device recording/ reproducing the data on the recording medium 9 taken out from the housing shelf 1, the transfer robot 2 transferring the recording medium 9 and a transfer robot controller, the transfer robot 2 is provided with at least a horizontal drive mechanism 3 and a vertical drive mechanism 4 taking in/out and transferring the recording medium 9 from the housing shelf 1 or the recording/ reproducing device, and when an operation command of transfer isn't issued from a host device, the vertical drive mechanism 4 driven by a motor is controlled so as to be moved to a stopper 8 position to be stopped, and is controlled so that a motor drive current is interrupted after the mechanism 4 is stopped.</p> |
