摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: TO provide a high-reliability fuel cell power generating system without developing the oxidation of a catalyst in a carbon monoxide converter even when a fuel cell power generating device has a long-term shutdown and materializing stable starting and power generation even when reduction operation for the catalyst is required in starting. SOLUTION: This system comprises a fuel cell body 1 formed by laying up a plurality of unit cells interposing a fuel electrode 3 and an air electrode 4 by sandwiching a phosphoric acid, an electrolyte-impregnated matrix 2, a reformer 8 for obtaining a reformed gas by reforming hydrocarbon-based fuel, and a carbon monoxide converter 11 for converting carbon ninoxide in the reformed gas component into carbon dioxide so that the reformed gas obtained from the reformer 8 may be supplied as fuel for a reaction to the fuel electrocle 3 of the fuel cell body 1. In this case, hydrogen is supplied to a catalyst during system shutdown to apply a reduction reaction to the catalyst in the carbon monoxide converter 11. The catalytic reduction operation in the carbon monoxide converter 11, is automatically done in restarting after shutting down the carbon monoxide converter 11.
