<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance accuracy in cutting or measurement by varying the curvature of a total reflector and the diameter of an aperture on a boring means, thereby stabilizing the laser light condensing characteristics. SOLUTION: Curvature of a total reflector 3 is varied by pressing a convex mirror. Consequently, the propagation characteristics of beam are varied and constant beam characteristics diameter of incident beam, order of mode (condensing characteristics), etc.} are obtained at the position of a condensing means 6 by changes in the curvature of the total reflector 3. When the curvature of the total reflector 3 is varied, the characteristics of a beam generated in a laser oscillator 1 are varied simultaneously and the relationship between the diameter of apertureϕat the position of a boring means 4 and the beam radiusωupon generation of single mode is also varied. In order to sustain a constant value ofϕ/ωby a central processing unit 13 according to the variation in the curvature of the total reflector 3, a signal for varying the diameter of aperture is delivered to the boring means 4. According to the arrangement, condensing characteristics of laser light are stabilized and the cutting or measurement accuracy can be enhanced.</p> |
