<p>A blind spot viewing system (10) capable of transferring an optical image (12) between two locations by use of a coherent bundle of optical fibers (20) with a lenslet array (30) placed on each end of the bundle or formed integral thereto. The lenslet input assembly focuses light onto the core of each optical fiber in the coherent bundle (20). The output of the coherent bundle (20) is also coupled to a lenslet array wherein each lens (32, 34, 36) in the array is positioned along the output end of the coherent optical fiber bundle (20) to collect the light emerging from the single optical fiber for focusing it towards a viewing position. Alternatively, the ends of the optical fibers can be modified to include a focusing lenslet. The viewing position might include a direct viewing or charge coupled device (CCD) for subsequent viewing on a video monitor (28).</p> |
