Audio and video apparatus with parameter adjustment mechanism

The apparatus includes an audio and video signal processor (6) coupled to a reproduction unit with which at least one audio or video parameter, such as amplitude, tone, balance, mute, can be adjusted. The signal processor has a transmitter and the reproduction unit a receiver which receives and processes signals from the transmitter and feeds the signals to the adjustment mechanism. For real-time setting of an operating parameter, operating parameter information can be transferred in a data flow from the transmitter to the receiver. The data flow is preferably a time multiplex signal.
