PURPOSE:To enlarge storage capacity by forming a recording pit while an interval is being gradually broadened in parallel with a radial position when a recording means is facing the external area from the half of radius of an information recording medium is detected. CONSTITUTION:A recording device consists of an optical disk 1, a spindle motor 2, a control circuit 4, an optical head 5, etc. In such a case, when that the recording means faces the external area from the half of the radius of the information recording medium is detected, the storage pits are formed by gradually broadening intervals in parallel with the radial position, when that the means faces the internal area from the half of the radius of the information recording medium is detected, the recording means is controlled so that the recording pits are formed at the certain regular intervals. That is, in the external area from the half of the radius of the disk information recording medium 1, which is rotated at a constant speed, the information is recorded in a CAT system, in which the recording pits are formed while the intervals are being gradually broadened in parallel with the radius position. Thus the storage capacity can be increased. |
