A motor vehicle seat assembly has a cushion 14 and a squab 16, the cushion being pivoted at or adjacent its front end by a pivot means 21 enabling forward and upward pivoting thereof from a seating position, a first detachable pivot means 37 providing a pivotable connection between the squab 16 and the rear of the cushion 14, and a second detachable pivot means 32 providing a detachable pivotable connection between the bottom of the squab 16 and the vehicle structure 31. Thus the seat can be folded from a seating position in either of two possible modes of folding.
