An exhaust temperature sensor disconnection detection method is provided to detect the disconnection of the exhaust temperature sensor accurately and prevent malfunction as an ECU(Electronic Control Unit) determines driving condition and applies thermal inertia. An exhaust temperature sensor disconnection detection method comprises: a step for setting up a time filter at the temperature end of a temperature end and representing the model temperature proximately with the real temperature; and a step for applying thermal inertia corresponding to the extent of the driving condition through an ECU and detecting the disconnection of the exhaust temperature sensor.
