PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a nonoriented silicon steel sheet small in magnetic dispersion, having a highly stable magnetic property and an excellent in surface property. SOLUTION: As for a method for producing a nonoriented silicon steel sheet is the one in which a hot rolled sheet contg., by weight, <=0.008% C, <=4% Si, <=1.5% Mn, <=0.2% P, <=0.005% S and <=0.003% N, and in which the compositional ratio of inclusions, i.e., MnO/(SiO2 +Al2 O3 +CaO+MnO) satisfies <=0.35 is subjected to skinpass rolling at 0.5 to 4%, is subjected to continuous annealing and is next subjected to cold rolling and a continuous annealing. The hot rolled sheet may be incorporated with 0.02 to 0.2% Sn as well, and moreover, after the final annealing, skinpass rolling may be executed at 1 to 15% draft. |
