A system and a method for collecting a right object of digital contents are provided to transfer a right object between devices through an RI(Right Issuer). A source device(310) transmits a right object collection request message to an RI. An SI transmits the right object collection request message to the source device corresponding to the right object collection request message. The source device collects and installs a corresponding RO when receiving the right object collection request message. The right object collection request message includes a device ID about the source device and an RO ID about at least one collected right object.
