PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an installation space and to easily deal with alteration of a process by providing a means for controlling an advancing direction of a sheet at least either one of front part of a first direction altering member and rear part of a second direction altering member disposed at specific angles to constitute a half folding mechanism provided between doubled sheets. SOLUTION: A half folding mechanism provided between doubled sheets has a first direction altering member 5 having a spread from a side 51 formed at an angle of -45 degrees to an advancing direction of the sheet to a side 52 formed at an angle of +90 degrees at one point of a folding line as a vertex. The mechanism also has a second direction altering member 6 having a spread from a side 61 formed at an angle of -45 degrees to a side 62 formed at an angle of +45 degrees of a sheet feeding direction and disposed at its vertex in parallel with the vertex of the member 5. Means 8a, 8b for controlling advancing direction of the sheet are provided at least at one of before the member 5 and after the member 6 are provided.
