<p>Thermoplastic compositions having improved compatibility and improved mechanical properties are prepared by melt mixing a composition comprising a poly(phenylene ether), a propylene polymer such as crystalline polypropylene and an elastomeric interpolymer of a C1 to C7 isomonoolefin, e.g., isobutylene, and a para-alkylstyrene comonomer, e.g., paramethylstyrene. The interpolymer preferably contains a benzylic functional group such as halogen (bromine). The composition also may contain a styrene polymer.</p> |
