FIELD: application of paintwork by method of pneumatic spraying. SUBSTANCE: insert 3 is installed in air-blast nozzle 6 for axial movement for changing critical section area 4 of air duct 5. The relation between outlet section area 7 and critical section area 4 in air duct 5 equals F<SB>out</SB>/F<SB>cr</SB>=P<SP>0,856</SP>/3,86(P<SP>0,286</SP>-1), where F<SB>out</SB> - air duct outlet section area, F<SB>cr</SB> - duct critical section area, P-value of absolute working pressure of compressed air in bars. During axial movement of insert 3 the geometric relations of the inlet tapered duct do not change thus preserving the parameters of outflowing air.
