An endmill comprises an elongate body 21 with a slot 21c formed in one end into which a replaceable blade 24 fits. The body has a wedge-receiving hole 22 and a screw-receiving hole 23 in communication with the slot, and the blade has a screw hole 25. A screw 29 is received in the body and passes through the screw hole of the blade to be received in the threaded hole of a wedge 26. As the screw is tightened, an upper sloped surface 26a of the wedge contacts an upper wedge contact portion 22a of the body to clamp the blade in the body, and a lower sloped surface 26b of the wedge contacts a lower wedge contact portion 25a of the blade to force the blade downwardly into the slot. A safety pin 28 is also provided. |
