Method and arrangement for cooling and/or heating, in particular for machine or reactor housings

A novel method is used for cooling and/or heating and is suitable for machine or reactor casings (2). Into these are introduced channels (6) containing tubes (7), connected only by part of their surface area to the channel walls. The tubes carry a fluid. In the novel design, a heat transfer medium flows in the cavity (10) between tube and channel wall. To vary the quantity of heat energy transferred between them, at least one of the medium, its composition and its flow velocity, are varied. Also claimed are: (1) the corresponding heat transfer system; and (2) use of such systems for cooling of mixing and kneading equipment.
