PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which damages on a semiconductor layer of a thin film transistor by UV light can be suppressed upon curing a UV-curable resin that forms a joint layer.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal module includes a display region having a plurality of pixels to display an image, a polarizing plate that covers at least the display region, and a plurality of thin film transistors 38. A joint layer is formed from a UV-curable resin and fills a space between a polarizing plate and a panel to integrally join the liquid crystal module and the panel. The thin film transistor 38 has a semiconductor layer 45, a gate electrode 47, a source electrode 51 and a drain electrode 52. The semiconductor layer 45 includes a channel region 45c, and a source region 45s and a drain region 45d located on either side of the channel region 45c. A light-shielding layer 42 is disposed to cover a side of the channel region 45c opposite to the display side of the thin film transistor 38 located outside at least the polarizing plate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
