PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vehicle which can evade a completely stopping state by securing the drive of part of driving motors even when the consumption, failure, etc., of a power supply battery occurs. SOLUTION: An electric vehicle is provided with four secondary battery units 2A-2D correspondingly to motors 16A-16D for driving four wheels 14A-14D so that the units 2A-2D can be supplied individually with electric power form the units 2A-2D. To be concrete, a housing section 12 is constituted by arranging a protective plate 12A and a bottom plate 12B below the floor of the car body 10 of the vehicle and the units 2A-2D are housed in the housing section 12 closely to the motors 16A-16D. In addition, another secondary battery unit 2E for controller or electric equipment is arranged at the center of the housing section 12. The rotating speeds and directions of the wheels 14A-14D are controlled in a generalized and centralized way by means of the computer of the controller. Therefore, even when abnormality occurs in one of the battery units 2A-2D, the running of the vehicle is secured by partially driving the wheels 14A-14D with the electric power supplied from the remaining battery units. |
