摘要 |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a blue to green-emitting aluminate phosphor for fluorescent lamps which contains only a small amt. of fine particles and hardly agglomerates by using anα-alumina powder having a specified primary particle size. SOLUTION: This aluminate phosphor is produced from anα-alumina powder having a primary particle size of 0.3-30μm and being substantially free from surfaces formed by crushing. An example of this phosphor is one produced by adding an activator comprising Eu alone or Eu and Mn to a composite oxide substrate represented by the formula (wherein M1 is Ba, Sr, or Ca; a is 0.5-4.5; b is 0-4; and c is 0.5-20). Since crushing is easy and the amt. of the fine particles formed is low in this production process, an aluminate phosphor excellent in luminous characteristics is produced in a high yield. This phosphor is useful for 3-wavelength fluorescent lamps.
