PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate cross-talk between discharge cells due to non-uniformity of a bulkhead face and improve resolution by forming a prescribed photosensitive film mask pattern on a transparent substrate, etching an exposed part by its prescribed depth, and forming a bulkhead. SOLUTION: A prescribed photosensitive mask pattern 11' is formed on a transparent substrate 10, an exposed part is etched by its specified depth, and a bulkhead is formed. An electrode material is evaporated and engraved on a transparent substrate 10', and an anode 12 is formed. Then, red, green, and blue phosphors 13a to 13c are formed in order through an etching process. Further, a stripe shaped side electrode 15 orthogonal to the anode 12 is formed on the top. A space for gas discharge is formed between the anode 12 and the side electrode 15. Thus, by constituting a bulkhead between the anodes cross-talk between discharge cells due to non-uniformity of the bulkhead face is eliminated, and a cell pitch size is decreased, making to possible to improve resolution and quality. |
