PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To age electrode plates in a short time at low cost by specifying the thickness of an electrode plate group comprising a plurality of adjacent electrode plates and the distance between electrode plate groups, when paste type electrode plates in which an active material is filled are aged by hanging them on an aging shelf. SOLUTION: A pasty material obtained by kneading lead powder with dilute sulfuric acid is filled in a lead alloy grid to prepare positive and negative plates of a lead-acid battery. When the electrode plates is aged by hanging them on an aging shelf 2, the thickness 1' of an electrode group 1 comprising a plurality of adjacent electrode plates is specified to 6-200mm, and the distance 1" between electrode plate groups 1 is limited to 5mm or more. A paste-type lead- acid battery with stable performance is obtained. |
