PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a playing method determining device capable of imparting optimum fingering to any melodies and imparting the melodies which can be played by assigned fingering patterns by assigning these patterns. SOLUTION: The optimum fingering patterns for all the melodies which are formable within a range of a fifth-one octave are previously stored in a fingering determination table. When the melody is inputted from a keyboard 20 or other MIDI apparatus 30, the melody is segmented to the section melodies within the fifth and the optimum fingering patterns are given by referring to the fingering determination table described above by each of the respective section melodies. The fingering patterns are displayed by a staff notation on a display circuit 23 together with the inputted melodies. The melodies which can be played by the fingering patterns are previously stored in correspondence to all the fingering patterns up to the fifth in a melody determination table. When the fingering patterns are given from a switch group 22 or external MIDI apparatus 30, the melody determination table is retrieved by these fingering patterns and the suitable melodies which can be played by these fingering patterns are deduced by retrieving the melody determination table and are displayed by the staff notation on the display circuit 23. |
