PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the power supply to a PC card performing a stand-alone operation and to prevent a contact defect of the connector by connecting an adapter which supplies electric power to the PC card from its internal power source through a socket and the connector at the time of stand-alone operation to the PC card. SOLUTION: The PC card 1 and adapter 5 are connected. The adapter 5 is provided with the socket 6 which is connected to the connector 2 of the PC card 1, and the electric power is supplied from the adapter 5 to the PC card 1 through the socket 6 and connector 2. Two alkali cells of AAA type are put in the adapter 5 and a voltage of rated 3V is applied to the PC card 1. The PC card 1 while connected to this adapter 5 is able to perform stand- alone operation to select voice data through the operation of an input key 4, the selected voice data is converted by a D/A converter into an analog signal, and an amplifier amplifies this signal. Consequently, a voice can be outputted from a speaker. |
