PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for protecting a coated optical fiber housed in a closure for an optical fiber cable to be installed outdoors over a long period of time which prevents the color of the outermost coating layer of the coated optical fiber from being discolored influence of UV rays, etc., and from making the identification impossible. SOLUTION: A UV shielding sheet 22 is pasted to the part (unhoused part 20a) not housed in at least the extra length part 8 of the coated optical fiber 20 housed in the closure 1 for the optical fiber cable to be installed outdoors so as to cover the surface of the coated optical fiber 20 or the surface of the bundling part 20a where the plural coated optical fibers 20 are bundled. |
