PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To modify illumination of the inside of the storage space of a cabinet. SOLUTION: In a cabinet for a refrigerator or a freezing chamber, a lamp 34 is arranged on this side of and above a horizontal edge part 38 of an access opening 16 to a storage space 12 for an article of the cabinet. The lamp 34 illuminates the storage space through the access opening by a reflector 36. The reflector 36 is provided with a cylindrical part 52 in a shape in cross section being a part of an oval, and the recessed part thereof is positioned facing the access opening 15 The lamp 34 is provided with a filament 42 shining in a linear shape and the straight line parallels the edge part 38 and extends through 42 one the focuses of the oval. The other focus of the oval extremely approaches the edge part 38 and is positioned on the outside of the edge part 38. Light from the filament 42 is first reflected by a part 52 of the reflector 36 and then bent in a manner to pass the other focus 58 and emitted toward the storage space 12.
