PURPOSE:To improve drivability on a slope way by a method wherein the running acceleration of a car and the suction negative pressure of an engine are detected and the gradient of a runway is detected through both of these signals. CONSTITUTION:A gradient decision part 700 is provided for the purpose of deciding the gradient through an acceleration detector part 400 and a negative pressure detector part 500. Whether the gradient is large or small is decided by the rule that when the acceleration is large and the negative pressure also is large the gradient shows a sharp descent and when the acceleration is not so large and the negative pressure also is not so large the gradient shows a gradual descent. There is further descision that when the deceleration is large, the smaller the negative pressure is the shaper the ascent is and when the deceleration is not so large and the negative pressure is not so small, the gradient shows a gradual ascent. In this way, the gradient of the runway is decided. The drivability in a slope is improved by releasing overdrive. |
