A web material which is impermeable to water and air, for inflatable boats and rescue rafts, is composed of a textile carrier (1) with a bonded polymer cladding (2,3) covering all the surfaces on both sides. At least one of the claddings (2,3) is in a closed-cell foam structure. The carrier fabric (1) is woven from synthetic fibres, and the outer claddings (2,3) are of rubber or a rubber-type plastics.
