PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relieve pains of a patient and also attain a higher treating effect with a catheter by providing a concave grooved or a concave indented lubricant pooled part on the outer circumference of a tip part of a guide wire to achieve a further smoothing and efficiency of guide wire insertion working in preparatory work. SOLUTION: A guide wire 1 has a core wire 2 as stainless very fine single wire with a fine diameter part 4 slightly tapered at one end thereof buried by a resin film 3 to be formed with an evenly circular cross sectional shape. The fine diameter part 4 is buried to form a straight very fine concave grooved lubricant pool part 10 on the outer circumference of a tip part 5 as leader part in the insertion of a blood vessel. When the tip part 5 is initially inserted into the blood vessel and advances, it functions as pool part 10 of a lubricant applied on the outer circumference to achieve further lubricity in the forward guiding of the tip part 5. This achieves smoothing and higher efficiency of working with higher lubricity in the insertion of the guide wire 1 into the blood vessel while enabling mitigation of pains of a patient. |
