PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a box for preserving a recording head cartridge when it is removed from a recorder in which a plurality of ink jet recording heads can be used while being coupled by constituting the preservation box of a box section and a cover and providing the outer surface of the box section with complementary protrusions and recesses forming a dovetail. SOLUTION: Complementary dovetail protrusions and recesses are provided on the side face at the box section 11 of a preservation box 1 so that a plurality of preservation boxes 1 can be coupled by inserting the male part 14 of left side face into the female part 13 of right side face while sliding vertically. In this regard, an insertion port is made closely to the opening of the box section 11 while being tapered at an angle θ such that the insertion port becomes narrower gradually in the inserting direction. Furthermore, a relatively low protrusion 17 is provided at the upper end part of the male part 14 and the inside of the female part 13 is recessed as compared with the side face of the box section 11 so that the forward end of the male part 14 is fitted in the box section 11 and the joint is prevented from being removed at a part of the cover part 12 when the cover is closed. |
