PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strip miss detecting device of high detection precision which can cope with various coated wire sizes without complicated adjustment. SOLUTION: The strip-miss detecting device 1 is provided on a strip device 20, and has a light projecting part 11 which projects a beam 8 to a coated wire 30 and a photo-detecting part 12 which is arranged facing the light projecting part 11, photodetects the beam 8 from the light projecting part 11, and based on the photo-detected beam area, transmits the signal representing wire thickness of the coated wire 30, and provided with a sensor part which relatively scans a strip part 32 of the coated wire 30. The strip-miss detecting device 1 is provided with a calculation part 100 which, based on the received signal from the sensor part, judges presence of strip-miss, and the calculation part 100, based on the signal obtained from the photodetecting part 12 of the sensor part, calculates wire thickness of the strip part 32, and judges presence of strip- miss based on its minimum value. |
