PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snubber circuit for a power converter suitable for executing more effective snubbering by omitting or unifying a constitutional part as much as possible of a delta type snubber circuit, providing a small-sized and economical constitution, also facilitating the assembly work. SOLUTION: A snubber circuit comprises a first/second snubber resistors 31, 32 connected to both ends of a series unit of self arc-extinguishing semiconductor switching elements 11, 12, series unit of a first/second capacitive elements 41, 42 connected between the first/second snubber resistors and a third capacitive element 43 connected in parallel to a series unit of the first/second capacitive elements. A middle point of the series unit for the self arc-extinguishing semiconductor switching elements and a middle point of the series unit for the first/ second capacitive elements are connected, the three capacitive elements are wire connected in a delta configuration, also a value of each resistor is properly set, so as to suppress voltage applied to the semiconductor switching element in the case of turning off a current by the semiconductor switching element. |
