The detection method has two electrodes (2,3) in the car radio base making contact with corresponding electrodes on the front panel. Breaking the panel radio connection raises the alarm. To make it more difficult for a thief to connect across the contact connection tracks (7,11) in the radio, a number of extra tracks (8,9,10) which are not connected to the circuit are laid in parallel to the connection track.
