PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stopwatch, with a built-in GPS(global positioning system), by which it is not required to measure the distance of a course in advance and by which running information on a runner is measured automatically so as to be obtained simply. SOLUTION: Positioning data which contains the hour, a position, a speed and the like are computed by a GPS receiver 102 on the basis of a signal received from a GPS satellite. The running time, a running distance and an average speed are computed by a data processing means 103 on the basis of the positioning data. The pressed hour of a lap time reset button and the running distance are recorded. The average speed or the like over a lap time measuring section and the whole of a course is measured. A start-stop button 105 is pressed, a measurement is started or finished, a lap time reset button 106 is pressed, the lap time is measured, or measured data are reset, and measured data which contain the hour, the lap time, the average speed and the like is displayed by a display device 104. |
