PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data entry device capable of displaying an external character by a right character approximate to it. SOLUTION: The device is provided with an external character and right character conversion table 4 storing an external character 'wide' (96BC) and a right character 'wide' (B9AD) approximate to it by respective codes and a font data file 5 storing font data of right characters corresponding to right character codes. An inputted external character code is converted into a right character code through the table 4, font data of a right character corresponding to the converted right character code is obtained from the file 5 and the external character is displayed as the right character approximate to it. As data similar to a character written on a screen is displayed with respect to the external character, the presence and absence of an erroneous input is judged soon to reduce erroneous inputs. |
