摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery capable of improving the output density of the lithium ion secondary battery. SOLUTION: Lithium carbonate which remains in cobalt acid lithium as positive electrode active material is ionized in an electrolyte, to generate lithium ions for decreasing the resistance of the electrolyte. In this way, the inside resistance of a lithium ion secondary battery is decreased, and the output density is improved. On the other hand, if there is excessive remaining lithium carbonate, the lithium carbonate cannot be sufficiently ionized and some existing in the form of Li2 CO3 which operates as resistor to increase the inside resistance of the lithium ion secondary battery. As a result of an examination, the optimum remaining amount of lithium carbonate is in a range of 1.5-2.0wt.%.
