Car door lock

The lock is secured against triggering during assembly by an additional spring (8) which holds the release lever (2) at rest until automatically disconnected from the lever when the lever is first operated. The additional spring is more powerful than the lever spring (4) and is joined to the lever by a hooked spring end (9) which slidably engages the release-directed rear (10) of the lever from behind. The hook is guided along a slotted link (12) running along the lever movement, so that when the lever is swivelled once, one of the spring force components loading the spring stands normal to the rack (13) of the slotted link. At its end near to the release setting, the link has an undercut portion (14) so the spring hook engages this when first activated and in this way leaves the release lever under the load of the first spring (4) only.
