A protective bandage for animals, comprises a support section for the affected region, which elastically holds the area and protects it against moisture and/or dirt. The support has a cushion insert (2) on the inside (50) in contact with the affected region. The cushion has a covering (1) which is water tight. The covering is pref. made of nylon.
