The wiper arm has a hub to which a dependent driven wiper shaft is fixed. The hub has a linkage connecting a support arm for the wiper. The support arm is pivotable on the axis of the link at a set spacing from the windscreen and is biased to this position by a spring. The support arm and the hub can thus be brought into relative set positions with their movement limited by stops. The spring loaded end stops (30,38,68) extend to an engaged position when the wiper (10) is lifted from the wind screen (24), and impart a force generated by an elastic element (40). Catch elements (30) engage positively around the end stops in the lifted position. |
