Virus resistance in plants

摘要

This invention provides a method for improving or imparting the resistance of an organism to infection by specific viruses. The method involves the production of an RNA transcript mimicking binding sites of the virus specific RNA Dependent RNA Polymerase which is produced by the infecting virus. The said transgenic binding sites compete for the RDRP and binding of this RDRP to the transgenic sequence rather than the infecting virus will result in the inability of the infecting virus to successfully replicate. This will have the effect of severely reducing the virus infection.
