PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition, good in moldability and excellent in balance between impact resistance and stiffness by formulating a specific ethylene-α-olefin copolymer with a specified high-pressure and low-density polyethylene in a specific proportion. SOLUTION: This polyethylene composition for a heavy duty packaging bag comprises (A) 50-94wt.% ethylene-α-olefin copolymer having 0.880-0.960g/cm<3> density (d), 0.01-200g/10min melt flow rate at 190 deg.C under 21.6kg load (MFR2.16 ), 10-20 ratio of melt flow rate at 190 deg.C under 21.6kg load (MFR21.6 )/(MFR2.16 ) and 2.0-4.0 molecular weight distribution and (B) 50-6wt.% high-pressure and low-density polyethylene having 0.1-1.0g/10min MFR2.16 and the melt tension at 190 deg.C MT190 of MT190 >=-9log(MFR2.16 ). Furthermore, the component A preferably has characteristics that the standard deviationσof the elution amount for the elution temperature obtained according to the temperature raising elution fractionation (TREF) isσ<=17.
