PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device for an internal combustion engine which can obtain proper intake swirl flow intensity in respect to lean combustion with certainty. SOLUTION: An outer diameter of an intake control valve 107 is so set that, when the intake control valve 107 is closed, a flow dividing ratio = (an air amount flowing auxiliary intake passages 101a, 101b)/(total volume of intake air (flow) = (an air amount flowing the auxiliary intake passages 101a, 101b)/ (an air amount flowing a gasp 107a between the intake control valve 107 and a main passage 110) + (an air amount flowing the auxiliary intake passages 101a, 101b)} = 0.5 to 0.95. Namely, it is set smaller than an inner diameter of a part where the intake control valve 107 is mounted in the main passage 110. Intake swirl flows 111a, 111b are prevented from being excessively intensified or weakened. |
