FIELD: mechanical engineering; devices transforming torque or speed. SUBSTANCE: variable-speed drive includes two taper drums 1 and 2 embraced by drive chain 3. Each link of chain 3 is made in form of oval roller 5 having round cross section; roller is mounted on longitudinal axle 6 inside ferrule 7. Links of chain 3 are interconnected by means of connecting plates 4 with the aid of side trunnions 8. Each link is partially rotatable in plane of bend of chain 3 around drums 1 and 2, thus providing for automatic tension of chain. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 cl, 2 dwg øøø1
