FIELD: ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: patient's visual analyzer is subjected to electric stimulation by applying pulsed electric current. Square pulses are applied in burst-like mode of intensity 5-7 pulses per burst. Pulsed current has the following parameters: pulse duration, 0.25-0.5 ms; inter-burst spacing, 1 s; amperage, 0.75-100 mcA; voltage, 0.5-1.5 V: frequency, 1 Hz. Treatment course includes 10 therapeutic 20-minute sessions daily using 2 electrodes, one of which is implanted to juxtabulbar section of visual nerve, while the other, is fixed subcutaneously in occipital region. Implantation of electrodes is practiced immediately before application of current. EFFECT: higher efficiency in treating all types of amblyopia. 3 tbl
