PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a manual printer having a shutter for protecting a recording head at the time of nonprinting in which a member having sufficient strength can be employed as a shutter and a mechanism for moving the shutter can be arranged easily and the degree of freedom is enhanced in the design. SOLUTION: Since the gap between a recording head 5 and a recording medium is increased when the recording head 5 moves upward with respect to a printer 1 at the time of nonprinting, a thick member can be employed as a shutter 17. Consequently, the strength of the shutter 17 can be enhanced easily and damage of the recording head 5 can be suppressed. Furthermore, since the gap between the recording head 5 and the recording medium is increased, the shutter 17 and a moving mechanism therefor can be arranged easily and the degree of freedom is enhanced in the design. |
