FIELD: domestic equipment. SUBSTANCE: electric iron has heating members made in the form of current-conductive plates and provided with posistors. Plates are positioned within bottom part of iron so as to define sections for providing various heat power. One of plates cooperates with one surface of each posistor. Other plate cooperates with free surface of transverse posistor and may be switched to two other posistors. Section isolating covering is manufactured from thermostable rubber.
