PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pre-treat organic gas which becomes a nutrient source for the growth of microorganisms contained in gas and to prevent the clogging of a treatment unit by providing a water spray means in an introduction pipe of odorous gas and also providing washing means of a packed bed in the upper and lower parts of the packed bed in a pretreatment device provided with the water spray means in the upper part of the packed bed in a tower body. SOLUTION: Odorous gas collected from a bit system and a conveyor system is sent into a hollow duct 13 which is an introduction pipe of odorous gas supplied to a pretreatment device 1. Odorous gas is primarily washed by hollow sprinklers 7 provided in the hollow duct 13 and a hollow water spray pump 8. Primarily washed odorous gas is secondarily washed through a packed bed 2 in which a water screen is formed by water spray sent from a sprinkler 5 for the packed bed and thereafter odorous gas is sent to a biodeodorization tower. Further, when multiplying and growing microorganisms stick to the packed bed 2 by operation for a long period and choking is caused in the pretreatment device 1, these stuck microorganisms are removed by water spray of high pressure water 11 sent from self-pressure rotation type high pressure washing nozzles 4 and thereby choking is prevented.
